Canon Point: Season 3 finale when Sykes was apprehended (aka the game AU point)
Warehouse Connection: Her sister was supposed to be the original Caretaker for Warehouse 13, but after her sister's death, Irene became the new Caretaker.
Appearance: Standing at 5'7", Irene favors clothing that seems to be straight out of the 1950s. She wears her hair always in a beehive, sports glasses and seems to have very few lines on her face, laughing or otherwise. She appears to be a woman in her late 50s yet there is no grey in her hair.
History: Irene is about as much of an enigma as the Warehouse itself. Few details are known about her life. However, what is known is that she was married and before becoming Caretaker, she'd had a son. Her sister was the original Caretaker of Warehouse 13, but she died when the original Warehouse 13 burned down. The connection then transferred to Irene in 1898, thus she became Caretaker for Warehouse 13.
As the 20th Century passed, Irene remained a shadowy figure. She would be around as long as she was needed, then she'd be off to undisclosed places. She had a position with the United States Treasury Department during the mid-20th Century for a time. Whether she still maintains that exact position remains to be seen. Though she has some sort of position in the government. After all, she was the one who recruited Pete and Myka, two Secret Service Agents, out from under their boss which was not an easy thing to do.
While her physical presence is not always needed, Irene seems to always be aware of what's happening within the Warehouse. She showed up sporadically while MacPherson was wreaking his havoc. She was also the one who correctly discovered that he'd used Leena as his mole, using the Pearl to control her. She recovered that Artifact from Leena, thus freeing her from its control. MacPherson, however, ultimately needed to be dealt with, which had been rectified when Helena Wells killed him. However, that left Helena at large in the world.
When Helena's plan came to its culmination when Warehouse 2 was brought back online, it had a drastic effect on Irene. Warehouse 2 was trying to take control of the Caretaker, wrenching her away from Warehouse 13, a process that would kill her if Warehouse 2 was not taken offline. However, while she was connected to Warehouse 2, she was able to see the inventory that was still there using her mind like a card catalogue of a sort. After Warehouse 2 was successfully taken offline and Helena exacted her vengeance at Yellowstone, Myka had resigned, but Irene wasn't going to let one of her best Agents go. When all other efforts to coax Myka back to the Warehouse failed, Irene took the Janus Coin with Helena's consciousness on it and went to see Myka. Something simply told her that Helena would be the one to get Myka to return to the Warehouse.
She was correct, for after that visit, Myka returned to the Warehouse and continued with her job there. Though it wasn't long after that a new threat in the form of Walter Sykes came into the picture. Needing to know more about him, Irene formed a plan with Steve Jinks, the newest Agent. He would infiltrate Sykes' ranks by being an undercover agent working for him after seemingly being burned by the Warehouse. As such, they needed to make it believable, so Irene used an Artifact to torture one of Sykes' henchmen, and Steve took offense to it, trying to stop Irene. As such, she immediately revoked his status as an Agent and left him out on the street. This plan, however, had only been known to Steve, for they needed everyone, even their own people, to believe Steve had turned against them. It seemed as though it was the only way to find out Sykes' plan.
This plan, however, almost backfired on them all. They discovered that Sykes wanted the Janus Coin because he needed Helena, and after he got possession of Helena's body, he tried to go for the Coin. However, his plan did not come to fruition as Pete, Myka, Claudia and Artie had arrived in time to stop Sykes from killing Steve and taking Helena away. Peace was restored, and she was involved in the talks regarding what to do with Helena. Despite the Warehouse 2 and Trident incidents, Irene had argued for Helena to have her freedom, that she'd proven herself to be an asset to the Warehouse. It was by no means a unanimous decision, but enough of the Regents supported it to allow Helena to maintain her freedom.
In the time that elapsed, a new threat has emerged, and the Warehouse is now saddled with a broken Artifact that is pulling people here from other realities. It is something Irene hopes to rectify sooner rather than later. She fears what will come of this, especially after what Sykes could have accomplished and what it took to stop him.
Previous Game History, IF APPLICABLE: N/A
Personality: Irene is about as straight forward while being obtuse as a person can be. She is blunt and to the point, never afraid to voice her opinion. However, there are times when she refuses to give a straight answer. Typically she will be obtuse when asked about her personal history, though that is also dependent upon the given situation, and when she can't give a straight answer due to hiding the truth or for keeping a promise to someone.
Despite how maddening her double-speak can sometimes be, Irene has a good heart, and she will always strive to do what is right for the greater good. It does not matter whether she personally agrees with what benefits the greater good or not, she will still do it. She has been around Artifacts and the Warehouse long enough to know that sometimes one must make the hard decisions. She is intensely loyal to the Warehouse and to those working with the Warehouse.
While she tends to maintain a stern and arm's length manner of dealing with people, Irene is quite the warm and caring person underneath it all. She still regularly visits her grandson in a nursing home. She cares deeply about people, but it does not always show in her words. However, it is her actions that speak the loudest for her.
She has a healthy sense of humor, though most people don't understand when she's joking or being sarcastic or not because she can deliver the most scathingly sarcastic comment completely deadpan. Most who encounter this are never able to tell if she's being serious or not. However, she has been known to smile on occasion. And, on the rarer occasion, she does laugh. However, she is largely the collected, calm and stern business-type.
Special facts/special abilities about your character: Irene is symbiotically connected to the Warehouse. The extent of the effects the Warehouse has on her are unknown. She is in tune with her aura and she gets vibes like Pete and Jane Lattimer do.
What major possessions does your character have? Her wardrobe. Does everything in the Warehouse count given Caretaker status?
Have you cleared this and discussed this with the Mods? Yep.
Do you agree to the requirements and pre-established obligations for the character? I do indeed!
Have you familiarized yourself with what the character has done, as either under NPC status or being played by a player, in the game thus far? Considering she's been my NPC since the game opened, yes, yes I have.

2. Third Person Writing Sample: Here
3. First or Third person Sample: [The Farnsworth flicks on and there's a very stern-looking, dark skinned woman staring out at the Agents receiving this transmission.]
With the recent influx of Warehouse personnel, I believe now would be an excellent time for duties to be more specifically assigned now that we have an even number of Agents available. [Clearly she is speaking of Wolcott's arrival.] No griping Arthur, I believe this is needed. We clearly have someone targeting us, and we must be efficient to try and locate them before they locate us. Everyone be in the control room at the Warehouse in half an hour.
No Agent Lattimer, you do not need a notebook to take notes.
Also, we have a few other matters that need to be discussed. [And she leaves that as her ominous sign off. Because why not make them sweat over what she has to say?]
